Augsburg hosts Native American powwow

3_powwowAugsburg College聽was mentioned by the Twin Cities Daily Planet as a result of聽the聽traditional powwow held annually by the college.

The event, which was sponsored by the聽Augsburg American Indian Student Association and American Indian Student Services, featured traditional Native American dancers, drummers, singers, and food.

A聽Minnesota Women’s Press profile on Berglund was republished by the聽Twin Cities Daily Planet. In聽the story, Berglund describes her history as the founder of Finnegans — a company that donates 100 percent of its profits to charity — and its newly launched food sharing initiative known as the聽“reverse food truck.”

Augsburg recognized among top LGBT-friendly campuses in nation

TCDailyPlanetAugsburg College was recognized by Twin Cities Daily Planet for being named among the top 50聽most LGBT-friendly聽campuses in the nation by聽2014 CampusPride. Stephanie Weiss, news and media services director, told reporter Cirien Saadah that while Augsburg is grateful for such recognition, the credit belongs to students for leading boldly as individuals and groups.
