

Sociology majors are highly active and engaged beyond the classroom, whether it is with student organizations or hands-on research and community engagement opportunities. All of these activities鈥攖ogether with classroom experiences鈥攑repare our future alums for exciting and meaningful careers.

In addition, check out what our Torstenson Community Scholars are up to and find out more about funded research opportunities available through the McNair Scholars Program and URGO (Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunities). We have a long and successful history of students working closely with faculty on research projects through these different programs.

Finally, Augsburg often hosts nationally recognized sociologists, such as Elijah Anderson, who spoke at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum hosted by 海角社区, and Matthew Desmond, whose book聽Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City won the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction in 2017.
