Off-Campus Opportunities

Spend 100 Days on the Mississippi River!

River Semester Students

Augsburg offers the unique opportunity to spend a聽.聽 Each Fall term, students can take a full semester of courses while traveling the length of the Mississippi River, including stops in St. Louis, Memphis, and New Orleans.聽 Study environmental and river politics, stream ecology, outdoor leadership, and design your own research project, while meeting with local experts and interesting local characters all along the way.

  • Internship or Independent Study for credit in ENV
  • Spanish Language: Choose up to two courses, from beginning to advanced levels

  • Environment and Sustainability in Southern Africa (Environmental Studies 100)
  • Internship or Independent Study for credit in ENV. 聽Placements available at organizations like the Namibian Horticulture Trust and the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
  • Lifetime Fitness: Yoga (HPE 002)
  • Several other聽courses that fulfill Augsburg requirements

School for Field Studies

The School for Field Studies (SFS) is an approved global affiliate program for Augsburg students, with programs that have an emphasis on聽Environmental Studies.

Our聽programs聽explore the human and ecological dimensions of the complex environmental problems faced by our local partners, contributing to sustainable solutions in the places where we live and work.”
